Erica Gavin stars as Vixen, the bisexual adulterer and racist. The film is a product of its time, making several geopolitical and cultural references. The Vietnam War's affect on young Americans, the Vietnamese themselves, and the intertwined racism become a prominent storyline for the character of Niles, eventually intertwining with political revolutionary ideologies like communism and the idea of fleeing Canada for Cuba in the third act of the film.
Additionally, sexploitation films were havens for exploring sexual taboos, using heterosexual intercourse as the Trojan horse to introduce and show incest, orgies, adultery, and homosexual sex, several of those appearing in this film. Another film that also came out in 1968, Seeds, is similar in that regard.
